More than 42 people have been killed in attacks that were carried out by bandits in northwestern Nigeria's Zamfara state, according to the local newspaper, The Punch.
The newspaper mentioned, quoting local sources, that the attacks took place in five localities in the Faru region, last Thursday evening.
According to a local resident, the bandits arrived on more than 100 motorbikes, opened indiscriminate fire on people, and burned the homes and groceries.
