Al-Kaabi stresses the need to keep the IDPs file from politics

The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, stressed today, Sunday, the need to keep the file of the displaced and the displaced from political engagement .

Al-Kaabi's media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hassan Al-Kaabi, met the head of the International Organization for Migration mission, Gerard White, whose work in Iraq, the new head of the mission, Othman Belbeisi, and the official of the Program Support Unit, Kitty Snowbell."

Al-Kaabi said during the meeting, "What everyone is touching during the previous and even the current stage is the dealing of some with the files related to the lives and livelihood of citizens, from a political aspect only, and the exploitation of these files to achieve narrow benefits, and their noticeably neglect of the humanitarian aspects of these files, whether related to immigration and displacement or missing persons or even related to the service aspects of citizens.

He added, "The House of Representatives is very keen to maximize the volume of cooperation between Iraq and international organizations that worked under critical and dangerous conditions to provide a helping hand to the citizen and is still carrying out its humanitarian tasks to the fullest, especially the International Organization for Migration, which was present in the Iraqi arena before and after 2003, And that this cooperation be framed by solid laws, and that coordination be direct and great between the organization and the government, and between the Iraqi government and the region, with the aim of ending the file of the displaced and the displaced, and ending their suffering, especially the problem of displacement camps, returning them to their areas of residence, and reintegrating them naturally.

Al-Kaabi suggested, "coordination between the organization, the government, the region and the United Nations to organize an expanded international conference to be held in Baghdad, Geneva or any other country to shed light internationally on the file of the displaced in Iraq and the importance of international support for this great file."
