Speaker of Parliament Muhammad al-Halbousi affirmed, today, Sunday, the legislative authority's support for the tripartite Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation to serve common interests.
The media office of the Parliament Speaker stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Al-Halbousi met today, the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein."
He added, "The meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and joint cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and investment, and the importance of expediting the implementation of strategic projects such as joint industrial cities, energy projects and electrical interconnection.
The meeting also discussed cooperation in the security field, combating terrorism and extremist ideology, and working to enhance stability in the region." ".
Al-Halbousi pointed out, according to the statement, "the importance of continuing joint cooperation between the two brotherly and neighboring countries," praising "the Kingdom's positions in support of Iraq, and stressing the legislative authority's support for the tripartite Iraqi-Jordanian-Egyptian cooperation to serve common interests."
King Abdullah affirmed his country's full support for preserving Iraq's security and sovereignty, and standing by it to achieve stability, expressing his happiness at visiting Baghdad.
