EU decides to deploy an election observation mission in Iraq

The European Union decided to deploy an observation mission for the upcoming Iraqi parliamentary elections.
A statement of the European Union received by Iraqi News Agency (INA), on Monday, stated that during the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell reiterated to Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein the EU support for Iraq in the elections which to be hold on October 10,
 Borrell announced that, at the invitation of the Iraqi authorities, European Union decided to deploy an election observation mission.
The European Union reaffirms its support for the Iraqi government in its efforts to hold free, fair elections owned and led by Iraqis, with full respect for Iraq's sovereignty, Borrell added.
