Martyrs Foundation: All families of Speicher martyrs received pension IDs

    The Martyrs Foundation confirmed, today, Sunday, the registration of the committee formed to follow up on the file of the Speicher murder martyrs, two thousand victims of the crime, while pointing out that all their families received retirement IDs that qualify them to obtain the privileges stipulated in accordance with the law.

    The Director-General of the Department of Victims of Terrorism and Military Operations at the Martyrs Foundation, Tariq Al-Mandalawi, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Speicher crime is a catastrophe for humanity, and it will remain a stain on all those who planned it and implemented it." 
    He added, "The Iraqi state, with all its institutions, is required to arrest those who caused this crime, and to prosecute the supporters and supporters," stressing that "there should be a project adopted by the Martyrs Foundation or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the international community to prosecute criminals." 
    He pointed out that "  
    And he added, "The committee formed according to the directives of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi with the Martyrs Foundation and the Ministry of Defense concluded that the number of martyrs has reached 2,000, and now their families are receiving their rights," noting that "the Mass Graves Affairs Department responded to the work since the first day, 17 cemeteries were opened and 1,235 bodies were found." They were identified and their bodies were handed over to their families. 

    And he indicated that "the process of opening graves was not easy because it needed experts, as well as the need for a group of state institutions to open any cemetery, such as the Judicial Council and the Ministry of Health represented by forensic medicine, the Ministry of Interior and the Martyrs Foundation, based on the mass graves law." 
    He pointed out that "all the families of the Speicher martyrs obtained pension identities, and their transactions were promoted through the Military Retirement Directorate in the Ministry of Defense, as they are affiliated with the defense, and those who were counted as missing were also counted as martyrs, for more than two years have passed since the crime." 
    He added, "The Iraqi courts issued decisions as martyrs, and issued judicial decisions to them in this regard," noting that "the largest part of the transactions has been completed, and only very few remain, up to 3 unfinished transactions," noting that "the data of the martyrs and theirs were documented." Full privileges and pension salaries, in addition to the other privileges stipulated in Law 20 of 2009 and its amendments.
