Baghdad - INA
The Ministry of Health confirmed today, Monday, that the epidemiological situation is still serious, despite the decrease in the daily rate in the number of injuries, while stressing the need to maintain the partial ban at the present time.
The director of public health at the ministry, Riyad Abdel Amir, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the decline in cases of corona infection is very slow," noting that "the situation is still dangerous."
He added, "We are still recording the number of injuries, but the importance that is taken into consideration is the rate of injuries compared to the number of daily examinations, which currently amounts to 10% of the number of examinations," noting that "after the peak of the first wave, the rate decreased to 2%, but now we have not even reached to 5%."
He stressed that "the second wave is not over yet," noting that "we cannot predict the existence of a third wave of corona, because this depends on the global epidemiological situation and the extent of the increase in the proportion of vaccinated people in the world and in Iraq."
Regarding the partial curfew, Abdel Amir explained that "the partial curfew must be maintained for the time being."
Today, the Ministry of Health recorded 4,129 new infections with the Corona virus, after conducting 4,407 tests.
