The Iraqi national team will meet its Nepalese counterpart today in a friendly match at the conclusion of its preparations within its camp in Basra in preparation for the double Asian qualifiers.
The director of the national football team, Hisham Mohammed, had set the date for submitting the final list of the team before heading to Bahrain for the Asian double qualifiers.
Muhammad said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "There is no return for the nine police club players who left the team camp in Basra, the coach chose replacements for them, and he is destined to put the players who will be in the team, and after the Nepal match he will decide who will be on the final list heading to To Bahrain".
He added, "From the first day of calling the six substitute players, they were informed by the coach that he would give all players the opportunity, because the Tajikistan match is technically different from the Nepal match, so he involved a group in the first match, and the Nepal match will give a chance to everyone."
Regarding the situation of injuries, he explained, "We have no injuries from the Tajikistan game, and the players have resumed training today and things are normal."
And he concluded, "communication is underway with Bahrain, and there will be swabs for the Corona virus for the team before traveling and during their landing there."
For his part, the Kuwaiti coach, Abdullah Al-Mutairi, confirmed that his team does not care much about the outcome of the friendly match that will bring it together with Iraq on Saturday.
Al-Mutairi said in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Our preparations to meet Iraq lasted for 11 days, and we hope that we will be ready as we play with one of the biggest players in the Asian continent."
