MOY announces its readiness to receive the teams of Tajikistan and Nepal in Basra

    The Department of Public Relations and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Youth and Sports announced the completion of the preparatory procedures for the friendly match of the Lions of Mesopotamia and Tajikistan in the Sports City in Basra, in preparation for the double qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the Asian Nations Championship in China 2023.

    Assistant Director General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Fadel Naji, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Thursday, that "the ministry has formed many committees, including the Public Relations Management Committee, which is concerned with receiving delegations and honors, as well as preparing logistical matters, and obtaining entry visas for a delegation.

     The teams of Tajikistan and Nepal participate in the training camp, as the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior were addressed and the work was completed within three days, indicating that the Iraqi team and the accompanying delegation were received at Basra International Airport and accompanied to their residence.

    Naji added, "The Ministry of Youth and Sports appreciates the efforts made by the local government in Basra Governorate for the facilities it has provided for the success of these events and sporting activities that would present a positive image for the country, stressing that all preparations have been completed to receive other teams and delegations, and the sports facilities related to this event have been prepared."
