President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Tuesday, the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations with Saudi Arabia.
The Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "Salih received the Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, and that the latter conveyed to the President of the Republic the greetings of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman," referring to "The President of the Republic entrusted his greetings and appreciation to the King and His Highness the Crown Prince."
He added, "During the meeting, the close fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen them were reviewed."
Salih stressed, according to the statement, "the importance of developing relations between the two sides and consolidating cooperation horizons in various fields, working with agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries in the fields of security, economy and investment, and strengthening them towards more cooperation and joint coordination in a way that achieves the interests of the two countries and two brotherly peoples." "During the meeting, the depth and development of fraternal Iraqi-Saudi relations were praised, and the two countries' keenness to develop close bilateral cooperation and coordination, pointing to the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Arab and regional regions, in addition to stressing that a secure, stable and sovereign Iraq has close relations with its Arab depth and its Islamic neighborhood. It is anchored in the consolidation of security, stability and development in the region. "
