The Ministry of Finance announced today, Thursday that it had signed agreements with its Saudi counterpart in the field of double taxation and export financing, while noting that these steps come to complete the work of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council to support and enhance the interests of the two countries.
The media office of the Minister of Finance said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordinating Council Ali Abdul Amir Allawi is participating with the delegation headed by Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi and a number of ministers and high-level personalities based on the lawsuit addressed to the President Ministers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the purpose of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. "
He added that, "In continuation to the work of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council, which was held in Baghdad in January 2020, where the Iraqi Minister of Finance Ali Abdul Amir Allawi signed an agreement to prevent double taxation, and the Saudi Minister of Finance signed it on the Saudi side, and the minister also signed the export financing agreement. Saudi Arabia, and it was signed on the Saudi side by the Acting Chief Executive of the Saudi Fund for Development.
