Election Commission reveals two mechanisms for selecting polling staff

    The Electoral Commission revealed two mechanisms for selecting polling personnel, while indicating the formation of committees to periodically supervise the work of provincial electoral offices .

    A statement by the Commission’s Media Office received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that “the two mechanisms have been established for all state employees and the other mechanism for applicants from the group of university students, institutes and graduates, in preparation for the parliamentary elections scheduled to take place on October 10, 2021, and within the preparations of the Electoral Commission,” Specifically, within the framework of selecting polling officials, it has put in place two mechanisms, one of them, "indicating that" what is related to the advanced employee segment is a requirement that the employee possesses a certificate of no less than prep, taking into account the selection of station directors according to the higher level of employment and academic specialization, while making sure that the applicants are not Candidates, party agents or observers, which will be verified through the program of intersecting applicants' data as polling employees.

    In a context related to the atmosphere of preparing for the elections, the statement added that "the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Department has been assigned to prepare a study to list potential violations of all stages of the electoral process and to propose appropriate fines for each violation in accordance with the law."
