The pandemic has caused the closure of the external borders of the European Union since March 2020, but the Union is studying allowing foreigners to enter its territory according to specific criteria.
The German Radio "Deutsche Welle" stated that "foreigners coming from outside the European Union may soon be able to enter the countries of the Union, according to a set of criteria related to measures to prevent the pandemic."
they added, "There are criteria to allow foreigners to enter the countries of the Union soon, and they include tourists who have received full vaccinations," noting that "those vaccinations must be approved by the European Union." "The criteria will include relaxing controls allowing arrivals to enter the countries of the Union, to include countries where infection rates reach 100 people per 100,000 people, compared to the current regulations that say they should not exceed 25 people per 100,000 people."
It is noteworthy that the European Union closed its external borders in March 2020 to unnecessary travel, while it drew up a list that is periodically reviewed on who can be allowed to enter the territories of its member states.
Since late January, the list has included Australia, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and China, according to the principle of reciprocity.
