Minister of Migration and Displaced - MMD, Ivan Faiq Jabro and the governor of Erbil Umid Khoshnaw, discussed the conditions of IDPs, facilitating their voluntary return to their areas, in addition to health and safety measures in the camps.
During the meeting they discussed the overall situation of the IDPs and the camps in which they reside, the necessary needs for them, and how to encourage them to voluntarily return to their areas. On the discussion of securing preventive measures from the Coronavirus, in addition to securing safety requirements in the camps, according to a statement by MMD, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
"The ministry is making efforts to follow up the conditions of the IDPs," Jabro said, noting that "it conducted field visits to these camps in the provinces of the Kurdistan region, praising the role of the government and people in the region in receiving and sheltering the displaced families and providing the necessary needs,"
“International efforts that must be exerted twice as much as they were in the past to help the return of the IDPs to their areas," he added.
