Iranian President Hassan Rouhani confirmed, today, Sunday, that Iran is close to lifting sanctions, expressing his optimism about the Vienna talks.
"We are close to lifting sanctions and are optimistic about the Vienna talks and the return of growth and economic development," Rouhani said.
He added, "Internal and other external parties benefiting from the continuing sanctions seek to obstruct the Vienna path," indicating that "we may witness an important breakthrough in the coming weeks regarding sanctions on our country."
The third round of Vienna talks was held yesterday, before it was raised amid optimism among the parties participating in it that an agreement could be reached with Iran on its nuclear program.
