The governor of Dhi Qar, Ahmad al-Khafaji, said in a special statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "at the present time, there are no infections in the governorate with the Indian strain," ruling out at the same time that the governorate will not be exposed to possible infections with this strain.
He added, "In the event that infections with the Indian strain appear, the local government will listen to the opinion of specialists in the Dhi Qar Health Department regarding the mechanisms that can be followed to avoid the risk of infections spreading." .
