The White House offers assistance to the Iraqi government regarding Ibn al-Khatib hospital fire

    The White House announced, today, Sunday, that the US administration has offered the Iraqi government assistance, regarding Ibn al-Khatib hospital fire in Baghdad, which killed 82 people.

    US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement published on the White House website today, Sunday, and followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "We express our sorrow to the victims of the fire, which also resulted in the injury of at least 110 people."

    He continued, "We are in contact with Iraqi officials and have offered them assistance," noting that "our strategic partnership with Iraq is primarily a partnership between the two peoples, and we are preparing to support the Iraqi government and its people at this tragic moment."

    Today, Sunday, the Council of Ministers decided, during its special session held today, against the background of the Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital fire incident, to withdraw the hand of the Minister of Health, the Governor of Baghdad and the Director of Al-Rusafa Health, and refer them to investigation in connection with the incident of Ibn Al-Khatib Hospital in Baghdad.
