    Baghdad - INA
The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Haitham al-Jubouri, confirmed, today, Friday, that Article (34c) of the budget law has nothing to do with income tax for employees.

Al-Jubouri said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): We have seen the Ministry of Finance’s statement that they are stubborn in Article 34 C of the Budget Law to reinstate Law 113 of 1982 regarding the tax on the employee’s total salary.

He explained that "the use of this article is imprecise and does not give the right to what the ministry went to in its published article because the intention of the legislator in this article is to cancel customs and tax exemptions related to the import of goods and commodities issued by decisions of the Council of Ministers, and its not related with the income tax related to the employee's income or salary." .

Earlier, the Ministry of Finance issued an explanatory statement regarding the tax deduction.
The ministry confirmed, according to its statement, that it applies the law in paying tax on all income, including the nominal salary and allocations, and the exemption obtained from the Council of Ministers was exceptional.

the committee pointed out that "the proposed tax deduction does not include the lower classes, and the Council of Ministers has the power to cancel it. "the committee explained that they "were able to take steady steps through the white paper in putting the national economy on the right track, moving away from dependence on the oil resource, and banishing the specter of repeated financial shocks that the country was exposed to after the global oil price fluctuation."
