Baghdad-INA
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee for the Saeron Alliance, MP Majida Al-Tamimi, rejected the tax deduction.
Al-Tamimi stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that it "rejects what was stated in the Finance Ministry's artical No. 880 of 4/13/2021 on tax deduction, and the minister's recommendation to return to work with Financial Instructions No. 1 of 2007 and refuses to apply the instructions referred to above." Indicating that "the employee may not be subjected to a double reduction during a period not exceeding four months from the devaluation of the dinar against the dollar, in addition to the tax deduction."
Al-Tamimi indicated that "this decision is nothing but a reflection of the confusion in the administration of the state and the lack of coordination between the fiscal and monetary policies, at a time when the value of the dinar decreased according to the decision of the Central Bank, which we emphasized that it should be slight and gradual with the taking of preliminary steps in that of improving protection salaries." We are surprised by the issuance of the Ministry of Finance book to apply tax deduction, which the Finance Committee deleted its article in the 2021 budget.
