The Border Guard Command confirmed its determination to prevent smuggling and terrorism on the Syrian borders.
The commander of the border guards, Lieutenant General Hamid al-Husseini, told the news agency, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Thursday, that "fortifications have been initiated to secure the borders with the Syrian side and to put thermal towers and cameras."
He added that more than 150 towers will be erected in the special sector of Mount Sinjar, "pointing out that the situation is constantly improving and the camera system is effective."
He indicated that “the border guards command has a command that holds the borders of the region,” pointing out that the Syrian border will be 617 kilometers long in the hands of the border guards.
