US-Led international coalition confirmed the ability of Iraqi forces to conduct independent operations to eliminate ISIS remnants.
"The recent air strikes were at the request of the Iraqi government and eliminated ten ISIS terrorists in Mosul and Salah al-Din," said the spokesman for the International Coalition, Colonel Wayne Marotto, in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He stressed, "we are here to jointly work with the Iraqi government, and we continue to support the Iraqi forces when they request support and air strikes,"
"Last week, the Iraqi air force carried out strikes, and the Iraqi security forces carried out duties on the ground," he added.
He pointed out that this shows the Iraqi air and ground forces at a level of readiness and equipment.
“They are able to carry out their duties without the need for support in some specific strikes," Marotto included in his statement, noting that "the Iraqi security forces are now able to conduct independent operations,"
