INA - Baghdad Iraqi National Intelligence Service (INIS) exposed a fraud network set to blackmail a number of Lebanese banks by spreading fake news. “The case was exposed during joint efforts between Iraq and the General Directorate of Lebanon General Security,” INIS Public Media Office. The accused claimed to possess documents of million dollars’ accounts in those banks. While other members of the network filed cases against the banks; the latest of which was against Bank Audi; a well known Lebanese Bank. Later on, the documents submitted against the bank were proved to be fake. A number of the accused were arrested in continuing efforts to protect the two countries’ economy and bilateral relations.
