Today, Sunday, Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim invited his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides, to visit Iraq.
A statement by the Ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said, "Al-Hakim invited his Cypriot counterpart to visit Iraq in the context of deepening relations between the two countries," calling on "Cyprus investment companies to work in Iraq, especially in the fields of construction, housing and infrastructure to achieve economic cooperation."
The statement added that "Al-Hakim and Nikos Christodoulides discussed the prospects for upgrading bilateral relations between the two countries by signing a number of memoranda of understanding and activating the memorandum of understanding for political consultations between Iraq and Cyprus," noting that "the two sides discussed accelerating the holding of the international conference, for reconstruction and development in Iraq."
