Salih: sovereignty must be respected

Today, Monday, President of the Republic, Barham Salih, the American attack on the headquarters of the popular mobilization sites in Al-Qa’im district, which occurred yesterday in violation of Iraqi sovereignty.

 And his media office said in a statement received that the President of the Republic continued with the government authorities the damages and sacrifices resulting from the attack, stressing that the sovereignty of Iraq must be respected, and its security and stability must be respected, and that protection of Iraqi missions, embassies, military bases, and international forces supporting Baghdad's efforts in facing Terrorism.

The statement added, The responsibilities arising from the agreement signed between Iraq and the United States confirm work to support the capabilities of the Iraqi state and enhance its stability, protect Iraqi sovereignty, and joint action in the face of terrorism. Noting  the need to spare Iraq from the consequences of regional and international conflicts.

He called on the President of the Republic to show restraint and contain escalation, and avoid everything that would harm the country under the current critical conditions, while attending at the same time the families of the martyrs who are victims of American air strikes.
