Head of State of Law coalition Nuri al-Maliki and Russian ambassador to Iraq Maxim Maksimov discussed the latest developments in the political situation in the region and the world.
This came during a meeting held between the two where they also discussed means of enhancing joint cooperation in various fields.
Al-Maliki asserted Iraq’s desire to strengthen the friendship and cooperation with the Russian Federation in various fields.
He expressed his welcome to Russia's stance in support of the political process and the Iraqi people, and hoped to name a prime minister who has the ability to take responsibility and meet the aspiration of the people.
For his part, Ambassador Maximov stressed his country's support to the Iraqi people and their desire to develop friendly relations with Iraq.
