The Council of Representatives is awaiting the formation of the new government to discuss the general budget law for the next year and to know its priorities.
Member of the Finance Committee Haneen Qaddo told the Iraqi News Agency that the general budget for the next year is linked to the new government, whose program of work will differ from the current caretaker government.
He pointed out that Parliament is still awaiting the formation of the new government and the introduction of the general budget to consider the government's priorities. He added the budget is still in the cabinet and has not reached the parliament yet.
The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives confirmed earlier that the value of the 2020 budget amounted to more than 150 trillion and a deficit of 48 trillion Iraqi dinars.
