Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi on Wednesday received a phone call from Iranian Vice President Yitzhak Jehangiri, during which he conveyed condolences to the Islamic republic and the Iranian people over the stampede during the Ashura ceremony.He also expressed his country's readiness to provide support and assistance to Iraq and its people within the framework of cooperation relations between the two neighboring Muslim countries.
The prime minister thanked the Iranian vice president for his contact and sentiments regarding the tragedy and praised the Islamic republic's supportive stance on Iraq, asking God to spare all the people of the region.
