Iraqi Health Ministry declared that 5 new hospitals will be opened by the end of this year in a number of Governorates.
Health Minister, Dr. Ala’ Abdul Sahib Alwan, said on Sunday in a statement to INA that ‘Five new hospitals will be opened in a number of governorates with capacities of over 2000 beds and supplied with the latest medical equipment.’
Dr. Alwan went on to explaine that ‘projects to build new hospitals were launched in 2008 but they failed to reach completion for various reasons.’ Indicating that the current ministry will focus on those hospitals which were 90% finished or more before work stopped in them for the last 4 years because of financial crises and many legal problems.’
