President Salih supports enlisting Babylon's Antiquities in the World Heritage List

During his Meeting with the Governor of Babylon, President Salih emphasized his Support to adding Babylon's Antiquities to the World Heritage List.

‏President Barham Salih highlighted the importance of giving Babylon Province the required attention; for its archaeological and historical sites, stressing on the need to upgrade the services and tourism status of the city.

‏His Excellency received Mr. Karar Sabah al-Abadi, the Governor of Babylon and the accompanying delegation, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad, on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

‏During the meeting, the President expressed his full support for the efforts exerted to inlist Babylon's Antiquities on the World Heritage List; in a way that befits the status of the Province and its cultural history..

‏President Salih stressed on the need to intensify efforts to develop the work of the Province and combat corruption..

‏His Excellency called for the unity of ranks and solidifying national unity, as well as consolidating fraternity and tolerance among all Iraqi communities; in a way that contributes to the enhancement of the foundations of social cohesion..

‏For his part, Mr. Karar al-Abadi gave a detailed explanation about the Province’s general situation and the problems faced by it..
