PM: Iraq represents center of gravity in the region

The Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi confirmed today Iraq’s keen to establish cooperation and interests exchange relations with all the neighboring countries since it represents a center of gravity in the region.

A statement issued by the Prime Ministry’s Media Office said Mahdi received the US Senate delegation headed by the Senator Jane Shaheen, where he asserted on the importance of cooperation between both countries.

PM refereed that ISIS is a tumor should be get rid of, and Iraq was able to defeat that terrorist organization with its people’s sacrifices, and we have a lot of work to perform in order to reach our aims in the fields of reconstruction, returning of services and getting all deported to their initial places, the statement added.

From her side, Shaheen praised the positive developments in Iraq and its stability compared with its previous visit in 2010, then both sides discussed the economical cooperation and the works of companies, besides supplying the country with its needs to fulfill construction programs, the statement concluded.
