PM Adel Abdul Mahdi received the UK Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox with an accompanying delegation in Baghdad.
Abdul Mahdi asserted that the Iraqi government is focusing now economy, trade, investment and other vital sectors after the victory achieved against terrorism as well as reopening roads and removing concrete barriers.
He also pointed that Iraq stability gives a better chance for UK to develop the Iraqi economy and the mid or small companies in addition to agriculture sector that is going through noticeable increase due to heavy rains and plenty amount of water.
PM praised the UK government and forwarded his thanks for supporting the Iraqi infrastructure that he hopes to be funded by the UK agency of funding.
Fox expressed his relief for the stable Iraqi situation that he has noticed during his visit to the country.
He also confirmed his country’s willing to enhance the ties between the two countries and increase investment and job opportunities.
