INA - BAGHDAD
President Barham Salih met the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert on Wednesday.
Both have discussed the latest developments in the Iraqi arena where Salih asserted the importance of the role of the Organization and its efforts to support Iraq in protecting human rights and consolidating peaceful coexistence among Iraqis.
Salih indicated that Iraq is receiving great attention from leaders of Arab and regional countries and the support they have shown for its efforts to eradicate the terrorist gangs.
For her part, Plasschaert confirmed the continued support for the Iraqi Government as well as the backup for projects and service programs in the country.
