President of the Republic Dr. Barham Salih said on Saturday that Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim is a great national figure and a distinguished scientific and jihadist figure for a history of heroism and a genuine Iraqi spirit that has paved the way for an Iraq free from tyranny.

"The martyr has taken the right path in the face of tyranny, arbitrariness and genocide when the Iraqis faced the most brutal and humiliating regimes," Salih said in a speech during a ceremony marking the martyrdom of Mr. Hakim and the day of the Iraqi martyr.

He pointed out that "murderers criminals assassinate him they want to undermine this confidence and the Iraqi national will, and their suspicions have been disappointed, it is men to cite the enthusiasm of us to advance and move forward."
