PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani received a phone call on Tuesday from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
During the call, the two leaders exchanged Eid al-Fitr greetings. They emphasized "the importance of coordination among Islamic countries in facing challenges and risks, in a manner that contributes to achieving security and stability for all Islamic nations," according to a statement by the PM's Media Office - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Al-Sudani affirmed "Iraq’s rejection of the threats facing the Islamic Republic of Iran and reiterated Iraq’s keenness on Iran’s security and stability."
The two leaders also discussed "the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields in ways that serve the interests of both countries and their peoples."
