The Gaza Health Department announced today, Thursday, the death toll and injuries as a result of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip since dawn last Tuesday.
The department said in a statement, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The death toll from the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip since dawn last Tuesday has reached 506 martyrs.
It added that "the aggression also resulted in the injury of 909 citizens."
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously condemned the renewed Zionist military operations on the Gaza Strip, describing them as brutal.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Republic of Iraq's condemnation in the strongest terms and denunciation of the renewed brutal military operations carried out by the Zionist entity against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in the martyrdom of 404 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 562 others, according to the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip."
It added that "these aggressive acts constitute a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law and directly target innocent civilians, confirming the continued policy of repression and aggression pursued by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to bear its responsibility. Its moral and legal responsibilities, and urgent action to put an end to these grave violations and protect Palestinian civilians from the continuation of these attacks, which contravene the most basic principles of human rights.
In its statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed "the Republic of Iraq's unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their just struggle to achieve their freedom and legitimate rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state."
