Badr Organization Secretary General Hadi al-Ameri and Kurdistan Regional President Nechirvan Barzani on Wednesday emphasized national unity to face regional and international challenges.
In a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Ameri's media office said, “The Secretary General of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Ameri, met in Erbil Governorate with the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani.”
The statement added that “the two sides reviewed the latest political developments and the general situation in the country, in addition to discussing the joint files between the federal government and the region and the course of the relationship in order to achieve the national interest.”
According to the statement, the two sides emphasized “the importance of promoting dialogue and understanding between all parties, and joint work to ensure the stability of the country and resolve outstanding issues in a sense of cooperation and national partnership.”
The two sides discussed “the situation in the country and the importance of maintaining national unity to face regional and international challenges,” according to the statement.
For his part, Nechirvan Barzani emphasized “the Kurdistan Region's keenness to continue coordination and cooperation with all national forces in Iraq,” stressing “the importance of supporting the federal government's efforts to achieve security and stability, and strengthening the national partnership that serves the interests of all Iraqis.”
