Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today, Wednesday, that the Russian-American meeting in Riyadh aims to increase trust between the two countries.
Putin said in a press statement: We have "taken the first step to resume work with the United States in areas of common interest, including the Middle East," adding that "Russia and the United States are working on economic issues, energy markets, space and other areas."
He continued, "The negotiations in Riyadh took place in a friendly atmosphere and their results were positive, and the Ukrainian crisis cannot be resolved without raising the level of trust between Russia and the United States, and Russia has never rejected dialogue with Europe or Ukraine."
Putin warned that "we do not interfere in relations between Europe and the United States, and we give top priority to settling the situation in Ukraine, and the Russian-American meeting in Riyadh aimed to increase trust."
