Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference begins in Bahrain

Under the auspices of Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with wide international participation, the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference kicked off in the Bahraini capital, Manama, under the theme "One Nation, One Shared Destiny.”

The conference event in response to a call launched by Sheikh Ahmad Al Tayyeb, of Al-Azhar during the Bahrain Dialogue Forum in 2022 for a global platform for Islamic unity and agreement in light of the current circumstances and crises that the Islamic nation is going through.

The dialogue, in which more than 400 Islamic scholars, leaders, authorities, thinkers and intellectuals will participate, seeks to establish a platform to launch new tracks of Intra-Islamic Dialogue with the aim of reuniting the Islamic nation and unifying its word in the face of common challenges.

The conference aims to move from the discourse of rapprochement to understanding and to establish a permanent scientific dialogue mechanism at the level of the Islamic world and to show the wide areas of agreement between Muslims in the east and west of the earth as a single nation and the need to work on the approach to deal with them as a starting point for dialogue between their various sects.


The two-day conference aspires to unify visions on the fateful issues facing the nation and promote the values of understanding and solidarity among its various intellectual and sectarian components, in addition to benefiting from all previous experiences and dialogue initiatives to come up with a new vision and provide a real qualitative addition in the field of Islamic unity.

The event will highlight the importance of the role of scholars and religious authorities in bridging the rift between different sects, rejecting hate speech, promoting mutual understanding and respect, working to renew Islamic thought to confront the causes of division, conflict and common challenges, and highlighting successful experiences in this field.
