Iraqi Minister of Planning Mohammed Ali Tamim met with Thaer Al-Ghanmi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network-IMN, on Sunday to discuss the network’s role in shaping a constructive national media discourse. Al-Ghanimi also announced plans to launch a new television channel dedicated to children.
According to a statement from the Deputy Prime Minister’s media office, the meeting brought together Tamim, Al-Ghanimi, and number of Board of Trustees to review IMN general policy and its future direction. Discussions focused on the network’s contribution to fostering a unified national message and supporting Iraq’s development agenda.
Al-Ghanimi reaffirmed IMN commitment to serving as Iraq’s official state media, representing all facets of the country’s institutions and activities. He also revealed that preparations are underway to launch a dedicated children’s channel, aimed at providing quality educational and entertainment content.
The chairman expressed appreciation for the minister’s support of responsible and objective Iraqi media.
