Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, explained Sunday, reasons for Government approval to open a Turkish Consulate in Najaf.
It said in a statement: "the Cabinet agreed to open a Consulate of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Iraq in Najaf. It came upon the approval of the Council of State Department recommendation, based on articles (25 and 26) of Foreign Service Act (45) of the year 2008, the Vienna Convention on consular relations of 1963. "Recognize text on the State Department to complete the procedure for opening the Consulate of the Republic of Turkey in Kirkuk, and submitted to the Cabinet for approval, Iraq retains the right to open a Consulate in the Turkish Republic in the future in accordance with the principle of reciprocity. Decision to open the Consulate in the provinces, according to a statement by the Secretariat, for the expansion of tourism and travel services and facilitate procedures for obtaining visas and entry attributes to provide better services to the citizens.
