Iraqi ports' IMSAS accredited auditor is certified by the IMO

    Mazen Al-Kaabi, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Iraq to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Maritime Attaché at the Iraqi Embassy in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, announced today, Thursday, that the IMO has approved the IMSAS certified auditor from Iraqi ports.

    "The acceptance of the marine captain, Zain Al-Abidin Adel Abdul-Moneim, as a certified auditor for the IMSAS system from Iraqi ports is a historic achievement that contributes to strengthening Iraq's position in the international maritime community," Al-Kaabi said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    "This accomplishment is a significant step in raising the quality of maritime services in Iraq, and it is the outcome of continuous efforts to strengthen collaboration with the International Maritime Organization and work to implement international standards that ensure maritime safety and security, which increases Iraq's position in the global maritime arena," he continued.

    He clarified that "this accomplishment strengthens the international community's trust in Iraqi ports and reflects Iraq's dedication to international standards, which helps to increase Iraq's ability to meet the requirements of the International Maritime Organization and pass the upcoming mandatory audit."

    By training sailors and managing ships in accordance with cutting-edge international standards, he noted, "Iraq continues to work hard to enhance its commitment to maritime safety standards."
