President Barham Salih asserted the importance of enhancing the mutual relations between Iraq and Belgium.
This came during the meeting between the Iraqi President Barham Salih and the Deputy Prime Minister (Minister of Finanace) Alexander De Croo on Monday.
De Croo forwarded an invitation for President Salih to visit Belgium and the HQ of the European Union.
Barham pointed out the Iraqi victory against Daesh terrorist groups, has attracted the attention of the worldwide publically and politically, where he also praised the role of the International Coalition forces and its contribution in terms of counter-terrorism.
He also added that the period after Daesh needs extra efforts from everyone. He called on the International Community to stand by Iraq and help in rebuilding the infrastructure, especially in the damaged areas where growth plans and programs must be adopted in cooperation with the UN.
On his part, De croo praised these victories and confirmed his country’s keenness to support Iraq.
