Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed today, Wednesday, that the celebration with Christians comes from the unity of the Christian and Islamic heavenly messages.
The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani participated this morning, Wednesday, with an Iraqi family from the generous Christian component in the capital, Baghdad, in the family celebration on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him)."
The statement added that "the Prime Minister was informed of their living conditions, listened to their conversations and requirements, and disbursed commemorative holiday gifts to the children."
Al-Sudani stressed, during his visit to the family's home, according to the statement, "his keenness to celebrate with Christians, based on the unity of the Christian and Islamic heavenly messages, and sharing the same moral and human values and principles," renewing the reference to "pride in the sons of the Christian component of Iraqis, who contributed to building the country and supporting the entity of the state."
