Al-Araji: Iraq's position rejects what is happening in Syria by terrorist groups

    INA - BAGHDAD

    National Security Advisor, Qasim Al-Araji, affirmed on Tuesday Iraq's position rejecting what is happening in Syria by terrorist groups, stressing the need to respect the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.

    "Al-Araji received, in his office, the US Ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski as they discussed with the US Ambassador the latest developments in the region, especially what is happening in neighboring Syria from terrorist operations by organizations classified by the USA as "terrorist groups," affirming "Iraq's position rejecting what is happening in Syria by those terrorist groups, according to a statement by the media office of the National Security Advisor - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    Al-Araji stressed "the need to respect the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon by Resolution 1701," noting that "the collapse of the agreement will have serious repercussions on Lebanon and the region."

    In turn, the US Ambassador stressed that "the United States is not in favor of the chaos that is happening in Syria by terrorist groups," noting that "these terrorist acts threaten the security and stability of the region, as well as the world."
