Media Office of the Prime Minister said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency INA that Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met today, Tuesday, with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and his accompanying delegation.
The statement read “The meeting focused on areas of mutual cooperation, including security, counter-terrorism, cybersecurity, localization of military industries, training, and the application of artificial intelligence in these fields.”
The statement further said “The Prime Minister emphasized Iraq’s commitment to fostering new avenues of partnership with Pakistan, building on the strong historical, social, cultural, and economic ties between the two friendly nations. He also underscored the urgent need for unity among Arab and Islamic nations to end the aggression on Gaza and prevent the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.”
It also said that General Shamshad Mirza conveyed the greetings of the Pakistani Prime Minister and commended Iraq’s achievements in countering terrorism, advancing economic development, and rebuilding infrastructure. He also praised Iraq’s constructive regional role in promoting security and stability across the region.
