Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and his Spanish counterpart, Pedro Sanchez, sponsored the signing of several joint memoranda of understanding today, Thursday.
The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and his Spanish counterpart Pedro Sanchez headed the delegations of Iraq and Spain in the talks held in Madrid, in the presence of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior, Transport and Trade."
The two sides sponsored the signing of four joint memoranda of understanding according to the statement - as follows:
1- Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the legal field and exchange of expertise between the Iraqi Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Presidency, Justice and Relations with Legislative Councils in the Kingdom of Spain.
2- Memorandum of Cooperation between the Sovereign Guarantees Initiative Committee and the Government of the Kingdom of Spain.
3- Memorandum of Understanding between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
4- Memorandum of Understanding between the Federation of Iraqi Industries and the Spanish Federation for Corporate Organization/CEOE.
The statement continued, "The talks also included the signing of other memoranda of understanding, which are:
1- A memorandum of understanding between the Iraqi Integrity Commission and the Attorney General of the Kingdom of Spain, which was signed at the headquarters of the Spanish Public Prosecution.
2- A memorandum of cooperation between Wasit Governorate and the Spanish construction company Imatia, which was signed at the headquarters of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.
3- A memorandum of understanding for security cooperation between the Iraqi and Spanish Ministries of Interior, which will be signed at the headquarters of the Spanish Ministry of Interior.
