Iraq First Deputy Speaker of Parliament confirmed on Monday that there are certain countries who feel alarmed by the emergence of a militarily strong Iraq.
A statement by the first deputy speaker’s information office, a copy of which received by INA, concluded that Al-Kaabi, during a visit to the headquarters of the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service (ICTS), said ‘we know that there are certain countries who feel alarmed by the existence of a militarily strong Iraq and are pushing with all their might to prevent this from happening. For this reason, one can see whole media foundations who devote all their activities to the purpose of smearing the image of the Iraqi Military and make it appear differently under various shades, some sectarian, some ethnic or racial. But our security system’s answer to all this was to achieve victory over ‘Daish’ terrorist gangs. This alone elevates our security establishment to a summit that the whole world should be proud of.’
‘the Iraqi people’ the Kaabi went on ‘is capable now, through accumulated experience, of differentiating between true, objective media news and a false one, which tries to maintain rifts that no longer exist after terrorism was defeated. Iraqis now reject and resist any efforts that serve sectarianism.’
