Deputy Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Elias Bou Saab, confirmed on Monday that there are no obstacles to implementing the ceasefire proposal.
"There are no obstacles to implementing the ceasefire proposal," said Bou Saab in statements to Reuters - followed by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
He added that "the truce - sponsored by Washington - will be monitored by 5 other countries. It is based on the withdrawal of the Zionist entity from the south and the deployment of the Lebanese army within 60 days."
Earlier, sources reported that the United States announced on Monday that a ceasefire may be announced within hours.
Reuters reported, quoting officials, that "the United States informed Lebanese officials that a ceasefire may be announced within hours."
