Iraqi President Barham Salih praised on Monday Russia’s counter terrorism efforts.
A statement by the president’s information office, a copy of which received by INA, mentioned that Salih has received Mikhail Bogdanov, the Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, along with the accompanying delegation. During the reception ceremony, Dr. Salih emphasized ‘the necessity of putting together all efforts, regional and international, to support security and stability in the region, expressing his appreciation of the role Russia played in the battle against terrorism.’
The statement added also that the president pointed out Iraq’s keenness on expanding cooperation relations in the areas of politics, economy, and investment, praising the distinguished relations that connect the two friendly countries.
On his part, Mr. Bogdanov conveyed the Russian president’s complements and renewed his country’s support to Iraq and its wish to advance the relations between the two countries in every field.
