Customs revenues at Baghdad International Airport have surged by 200% following the implementation of automation systems, according to the Government Communications Team.

Ammar Munem, head of the Government Communications Team, highlighted the significant improvements in revenue collection across various financial sectors, including oil derivatives, taxes, and customs, due to the deployment of automation systems.

“The integration of electronic systems has notably increased revenues and transaction volumes,” Munem told the Iraqi News Agency (INA). “Our ongoing plans include further automation initiatives. While Baghdad Airport has seen a 200% rise in customs revenues, Basra has also reported a 200% increase. The success of these automation efforts depends on a supportive environment, legislative frameworks, and advanced technology, which are being developed gradually.”
