The Ministry of Planning announced on Sunday the commencement of the third and final phase of the national census.
According to a statement from the ministry,received by the Iraqi News Agency-INA Diaa Awad Kazim, head of the Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority, confirmed that the third phase of the general population census is now underway and will run until the 10th of next month.
Kazim explained that this phase will involve field teams visiting households that enumerators were unable to reach during previous phases. He emphasized that this final phase will collect crucial data on various aspects of the population's lives, including health, housing, education, employment, and access to services. This information is vital for guiding development efforts, improving public services, and shaping future service and infrastructure projects across Iraq's governorates, districts, suburbs, villages, and residential areas.
“Field teams will ensure all households, including those missed in earlier stages, are visited to complete the data collection process,” the statement added.
